Staying with a pet
Where can I stay with my pet in Zlatibor?
The Zlatibor Tourist Organisation keeps a list of pet-friendly places: zlatibor.org.rs — pet-friendly accommodation.
Is there a pet hotel or boarding nearby?
Unfortunately there are currently no pet hotels or boarding in the area. Look in Čačak, Kraljevo or Belgrade. For your pet’s safety, make sure the place is legally registered and issues a fiscal receipt.
Reporting abuse
How do I report neglect or an irresponsible owner?
Under the Animal Welfare Law, the competent body is the Republic Veterinary Inspection. Contact it in cases of abuse or endangerment, inhumane conditions, unchipped animals, abandonment, uncontrolled breeding, illegal sale, animal fights, or use of animals in unregulated services (cart pulling, transport, tourist rides…).
Email: milenazlatifer@gmail.com · Phone: +381 64 868 00 18 · Serdara Mićića 2, Čajetina
Tip: file the complaint in writing, in two copies, with all the evidence — hand one in and ask for the other to be stamped as received. That copy is your proof and lets you follow the case. If you report by phone or in person, ask for a written confirmation by email or post.
How do I report brutal abuse, killing or poisoning?
Report it in writing or verbally to the police or the public prosecutor’s office. There’s no prescribed form, but include as much precise information as possible:
- the authority you’re reporting to (prosecutor or police),
- details of the person you’re reporting (if unknown, report against an unknown person),
- a detailed description — time, place and manner,
- names and contacts of witnesses and any evidence (photos, vet findings…),
- your own details (name, address, contact).
You can report anonymously, but such reports without witnesses are often dismissed, and you won’t be able to follow the outcome.
Responsible ownership
What are my legal obligations as an owner?
Under the Animal Welfare Law you must properly mark and register your animal, provide adequate care, food, shelter and vet care, prevent it from escaping or endangering people and other animals — and prevent it from breeding further.
Buying or acquiring a pet from someone not registered as a seller is illegal and punishable for both sides. Not knowing the law is no excuse: Animal Welfare Law (Serbian).
About the association
Can you take in an animal I found?
We’re at full capacity right now. We’re a small association without our own shelter, so places fill up fast — until further notice we can’t accommodate or take in animals. But we can advise you: write to us, and check the list of vets above.
How do I contact you?
Email us at udruzenje.hog@gmail.com or message us on Instagram. We’re all volunteers, so a reply may take a day or two — thanks for your patience!
Donating
How do I know the money really reaches the animals?
We publish annual financial reports and, for every appeal, a donations-and-costs sheet with receipts — all available on this site. We’re all volunteers and nobody takes a salary.
Is paying with an IPS QR code safe?
Yes. IPS QR is the National Bank of Serbia standard. You scan the code in your own bank app, check the details and confirm — we never see your card or account details. The money arrives within seconds.
Can I give every month?
Yes — and it means the most to us, because it lets us plan treatments and food. Set up a standing order in your e-banking with our details (choose “Monthly” in the donation form to get everything in one place).
Can I donate food or supplies instead of money?
Of course. Food, pads, litter, bedding, blankets and flea & tick protection are always welcome. Write to us and we’ll arrange a pick-up.
I’m abroad — how can I donate?
Email us at udruzenje.hog@gmail.com and we’ll send you the details for an international transfer.
Why you?
Because we’re the only animal welfare organization in the district. Without us there’s no one here to treat, spay/neuter and rehome abandoned animals — and spay/neuter is the only lasting way to reduce their numbers.
No results. Try another word or write to us.
Didn’t find an answer?
Write to us — we’re all volunteers, so a reply may take a day or two.
* We update this information occasionally — please check opening hours and addresses of the listed places before visiting, as we can’t guarantee third-party details.
